Another week wraps up and, as always, here’s this week’s magazine cover along with a round-up of the madness.
Jacinda Ardern was impossible to escape this week. Her new book, A Different Kind of Power, hit the shelves and quickly became headline fuel. Reviews from around the world have been brutal. One described it as a "350-page therapy session" - full of feelings and kindness but almost nothing about actual politics. It reads more like a mindfulness retreat pamphlet than a political memoir.
Thursday in Parliament was anything but peaceful. Winston Peters let rip and took aim at "the guy in the cowboy hat", Rawiri Waititi, who he called scribble face. I was livestreaming the whole thing on X and nearly spat my beer when I heard it. Absolute scenes.
