I've just listened to Mike Hosking's interview with Chipkins and by the end of it all I could think was "What a slimy little git." I'm a firm believer in Karma - it will catch up with them all sooner of later.

Sorry Aroha, you’re showing your decency again. ‘Slimy little git’ does not really do it. ‘Slimy’? Oh yes, that’s a great adjective. But I think Brooke vV had a far more apposite noun one should employ when referring to Mr Hipkins.

'Doctor' bloomfield seems to have escaped any scrutiny.

I agree, it’s likely a pointless petition. But I still signed it - if for no other reason than to record somewhere formally that I think they should front up.

Agreed. I did too. But Matua is right, rather pointless. A bit like the various written submissions we have all made on Bills, letters directly to governing leaders, or I guess all the rants & opinions Boris has ever produced, all equally pointless, but still we try.

Yes, the petition is pointless, and little more than political posturing.

As for how it will impact Hipkins's voter base I'm mindful that one shouldn't underestimate the stupidity of the average voter.

Napkins is deluded if he thinks not fronting up wont harm his chances of being PM next year. In reality is just shows what he thinks of being in govt in NZ is really all about.

Pointless yes, but if it turns a few voters away from that side of the house then great. Although I’d hate to see said voters go further left…

Agree - yet people will vote for him - especially the woke that blindly followed the rules of the Ardern Government through the Covid era and continue today to justify the egregious acts they committed.

...so a really good voter would ask the candidates their position on this, and politician and gov-agency-worker accountability?

Will they repeal the sections of law which give such assholes a free pass.

If they are truly a separate species, then we have a novel situation, which clear laws have not been written for.

People would be foolish to vote for Labour or any other left-wing party full stop.

They play nice to the public during election time and then treat the public with utter disdain, such is the ideological bent and arrogance - Labour, Greens, TPM and National - I'm looking at you.
