Even though it’s been ten years, it gives us some peace that these two are in court charged with child neglect. Let’s hope the good work continues, to bring justice to other unresolved child murder cases.
“I guess Toitu Te Tiriti is more important than children dying in this country to some people”……you say it too damn well.
But don’t worry your sympathies and disseminations seep through. I surprised myself the other day when I got a random FB post from some Government funded Taranaki Māori media. I said NZ Iwi are losing a lot of credibility making these claims when ALL of us face credit card debt to cover government debt and maybe they need to look at this…….and hey only one “racist” comment and quite a few who agreed we all need to pull our fingers out…..We all know Māori people have never been stupid…and it was nice on a “Māori” forum to find people agreed. PS This Media/Radio whatever it is cops around $NZ850,000 PA Govt funding. Bet you wouldn’t mind a little of that Matua!
I don't use Facebook. I left a few years ago and I'm really glad I made that decision. I still use it for Facebook Ads and business purposes, but these days I’m pretty much exclusive to X and Substack.
Haha, I would never receive any funding for the kind of things I write about. I’ve been asked to write for certain publications, but the moment I sign a contract with another organisation, I come under their control. That’s why I find it much better to write on this platform. If people like you choose to support me, that’s a bonus. Thank you!
It's really sad. I try to write about as many child abuse cases as I can, but I can only cover the ones I actually hear about. There are so many that never reach the public eye.
Sometimes I honestly think people should need a licence to have kids. Some individuals are simply not fit to be parents.
The fact that 2 people have now been charged with neglect/murder is brilliant for the little one. This should be front page large type news. Send a deterrent to the others who are still out there and guilty. It is happening way way too often. NZ worst country in the world for infant mortality and, not being racist, it comes from the one race predominantly. The only way to stop is via grass roots so exactly where are the partly maori party leading the charge?
There’s nothing racist about stating facts, Michelle. If it were Asian or New Zealand European families doing the killing, I’d be speaking up just as loudly.
People on X have said things like, “You only talk about Māori killing their kids” – but that’s because, in most of these cases, it is Māori who end up in court facing child homicide charges.
I realise you would Matua. But being called "racist" appears to be labelled by anyone and everyone who perceives the writer is not a maori or the right type of maori. Seems the only word they know.

I bet they weren't expecting that knock on the door!
I bet!!!
Mauruuru koe. He totara rawe koe mo Matua, mo te hunga e kore e rangona o ratou ake reo.
Thank you. You are a mighty totara Matua, for those whose own voices cannot be heard.
Thanks for your kind words, Chris!

I’m European Kiwi but I feel a deep sadness at this, for the child, the whanau, it’s friends and us as a nation.
But not the abusers and not the media, nothing but contempt and acsething anger.
All our kids are treasures and they are our future, no matter who the moms & dads are…
