There is no accountability with the Maori Party, because all other parties and those individuals that do not have mixed blood are too cowardly and live in fear of that terrible universal comment "you are a racist". In the meantime it provides cover for people hiding behind race to act with immpunity when committing criminality and corruption.

Absolutely, the lack of accountability is staggering.

Serious and TPM should never be mentioned in the same article.

Their "party" is but one big dishonest joke.

Haha, you’re spot on - they might think they're a serious party, but maybe they just know it’s all a grift.

Having just driven through Patea this morning on my way back to Wellington, the section there could be registered as a liability, not an asset 😁.

Dishonesty abound ... has TPM lodged its last 2 years of annual financial declarations yet?

Nope, they say they're going to do it before the next election. Time will tell.

Why are they still allowed to operate and why are we still paying their taxes.

That's their whole point of exisiting. To snub 'white people's rules'. They just don't care. They are in parliament to agitate and thumb their finger (middle) to society at large. They should be banned from parliament until ALL rules are adhered to. As I have said before, Gerry Brownlee needs to find a spine when Parliament is sitting and they play up. Parliamentary services (?) needs to come down on them like a ton of bricks for everything else. It's tiring.

You’re right, they don’t respect the white man or his rules. They’d rather follow a tikanga mumbo-jumbo approach full of feelings and vibes that solves nothing.

I do not like this duplicitous woman in the least but fair is fair....MP's I believe are not prevented from owing property but they are required to register?

Our current MP for Wanganui National's Carl Bates holds a couple of dozen low rent properties along with his mum through a trust I believe. The Herald exposed this a couple of weeks ago and it's "water off a duck's back" as far as he is concerned.

He's a regular round our parts popping into businesses all over Sth Taranaki.

He came here once but we saw him off pretty quickly and now he more or less avoids us.

Frightened we might say some hard truths to his face I suspect. Being our local MP I wrote to him once and got reply from his office staff with the usual Nga Mihi claptrap at the end to which I politely objected to and I got a call from his press secretary and we had a 15 minute conversation about it.

I left her in no doubt about my feelings broadly that we are in the 21st century and we believe that in NZ there should be no preferences or honour given to any race above another...........In truth he is a smiling and duplicitous rat but people about here love him because he smiles and keeps popping by......It's that easy really.

Secretly I'm hoping Harete Hipango challenges him through NZ First next time around and I will throw all support behind her because her integrity is a stand out.....BUT people about here didn't like her because she didn't "pop by" so much.......My conclusion, Kiwis can be pretty bloody stupid......Has anyone ever done a "stupidity poll" for NZ? It must be possible......

No problem at all with her owning property, good on her. Property ownership is getting tougher and tougher, and thanks to colonisation and her cushy, do-nothing job in Parliament, she can afford it. The issue is she constantly and openly flouts the rules.

Rules are for thee ........... not me!!!

Again, this comes down to having a weak speaker of the house, until Gerry Brownlea gets tough on ALL who transgress in the house, this behavior will continue.

Just thinking .... do we know if TPM have finalised and presented their annual financial reports?
