One thing I noticed about him was how charismatic and calm he seemed. I didn't see his monologue as a rant at all, if anything he seemed lucid. I managed to follow his word salad up to the point he threw in words like, ' tino rangatiratanga' and, 'rohe'. I can see why younger people, familiar with his language, would find his rhetoric compelling.
He has a very narrow view of society though. Seeing every issue through the lens of race and/or victimhood doesn't allow one to be open to other ways to solve societal issues.
It will be a great day for civilisation when we focus on a persons character instead of their ethnicity.
It is all very deliberate. I call it a rant because he is openly pushing back against Te Pāti Māori, and I am certain the leadership would prefer he kept quiet.
As a quick side note, I actually wrote this before Eru Kapa-Kingi announced he was cutting ties with Te Pāti Māori - it had just been sitting in my scheduled posts.
Well, he's certainly doing a great job of distancing TPM from Liebour. Maybe even distancing them right off the map as being a coherent party. Just wonder what Tamahere is thinking - endorsing this or distancing the party from this.
If what Eru Kapa-Kingi says is true, there’s clearly a fair bit of internal conflict bubbling away inside Te Pāti Māori. Then again, as others have suggested, it could just as easily be a calculated publicity move.
What he is suggesting is no choice for Maori. TPM will select candidates and you, Maori will anoint them. That is not how this system works. Is it a bad system for everyone to have a voice. Ferris seems to want to take away that right. Like he know what is best.

I honestly don’t think he’s quite right in the head.
You're right, there are flaws in every race.
