Hobsonville Point Secondary School has finally done what any responsible school should have done from the start. After public outrage and the threat of protest, they cancelled the annual LGBTQ+ event Lil’ Gay Out. About time.
This event had no place in a school to begin with. It’s not “inclusive,” it’s ideological. And people saw through it. The backlash was loud, justified, and necessary.
The media, of course, is already doing damage control. The New Zealand Herald claims students are “devastated” by the cancellation. No surprise there. The Herald has become a mouthpiece for gender ideology and cannot be trusted to report fairly on anything that challenges it, especially when some of their senior journalists have transitioned their sons into girls.
Principal Kirsty Downing admitted the event was shut down due to safety concerns. In her words, “We are aware that there is the possibility of outside protesters at this event, [and] we do not consider this risk to be in the interests of our students, staff, visitors and community.” That is not just about safety. That is an admission that this event was controversial and unpopular with a large part of the community.
One of the main features of Lil’ Gay Out was mental health workshops. That should raise serious red flags. If this group of students needs that much mental health support, maybe it is time to question whether the environment being created by events like this is helping or harming them.
and called this out early. They have been doing the work that mainstream media and cowardly school boards refuse to do. They have used Substack and X to shine a light on what is really going on, and parents should be grateful. If you are not following them, you are missing out on people who actually care about protecting children.Let’s not forget who is behind this event. InsideOUT. This is the same group that pushes puberty blockers to kids. The same group that partners with the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa, an organisation known for promoting graphic and adult-themed material under the banner of health education. These are not groups that belong anywhere near children.
Lil’ Gay Out was never about support or inclusion. It was about pushing a political and ideological agenda into classrooms. It is about time someone put a stop to it.
Hobsonville Point Secondary School made the right decision. They did not cave to activists. They listened to the community. And they protected their students from an event that should never have been allowed in the first place.
This is what happens when parents speak up. This is what happens when the public refuses to stay silent. And this is only the beginning.
- One-off support of $10 or more
- Monthly support: $10, $25, $50, $100
Thank you Matua for advocating for common sense and protection of our children. Daily we see the education system and mainstream media sink to new lows. It appears both bow to the altar of trans ideology like a religion.
It's deeply concerning that both the education system and our media clearly do not represent the will of the good people of New Zealand.

🙏🏻 shine that light on it Matua ☀️ sunlight is the best disinfectant. There will be a lot of people wound up in this that have absolutely no idea how ideologically captured they are and by whom. It will no doubt create some existential crises that people will need to sort out in their head and the likes of Claire Amos and crew best check themselves. There’s only so long the media can blame it on Destiny Cs Man Up crew and religions intolerance for Gays before realising it’s actually just parents from all walks of life - including the LGB who are calling out their PsyOp tactics and mutilation of children’s minds and bodies.
