Anglican Church went woke a long time ago. My mother would turn in her grave to see their latest antics! Pure theatrics IMO

Yup. Boris has had a few close dealings with the Angle Cans and they went woke way back in the 80’s/90’s. First it was a Pasifika thing, which was well intentioned as the Polys are deeply religious & good church folk generally. But then came the Maori takeover (which is ridiculous cos Maori spirituality is pagan animism & thus theologically anathema..). And of course, now they’re fully woke, it’s all this kind of bullshit.

First - spot on - however I must correct you on the church losing influence…it was…but as the pendulum swings from looney left to radical right - faith is back in vogue (thanks Charlie)

I’d argue that churches (and who people them and lead them) have always been political (in the west) - indeed the church and bishops were a huge influence of politics in France Spain and England (to name but a few)

But this is classic - female priests - representing that poor (imo) misguided female demographic that drives politics left and virtue signal the nuts out of every leftist cause in vogue. Sigh

But in this case - good grief…your photo of a Hamas execution is so apt…a solid diet of msm will do this to a sound mind…

How could they possibly justify this stance?? Stop the war and killing- 100% but recognise Palestinian Statehood - that’s for galas (Aussie birds)…

Insanity

I actually wonder how they will justify this in the presence of their creator…not a demand to stop the killing - but honouring murderers with statehood…

Love to hear that conversation…

I’m sick of bloody do gooders who forget there are plenty of worthy souls in NZ that need sympathy and help. No they look for the cause that ‘resonates’ with media and crave publicity. I can’t and won’t support any religion that ceases to recognise the needs of its direct community before all others.

Churches have a long history of involvement in or support of terrorist groups. This goes back to protecting Marxist terrorists in Rhodesia, even to the extent of identifying Rhodesia soldiers whereabouts, supporting the ANC in South Africa and their involvement disrupting the Springbok tour of 1981. Really they should be looking after their clergy not terrorists who incriminately murder1200 innocent people

I very strongly believe that involuntary or forced migrants - those people who are compelled to leave their country's of citizenship due to factors like conflict, persecution, violence or natural disasters, rather than by personal choice - and who legitimately claim refugee or asylum status in a different country, should receive the help they need but from that country's government agencies and not religious left organizations.

In recent years we witnessed how Catholics in the USA worked against their government by providing services to voluntary migrants ... those people who leave their country's of citizenship for reasons like work or education. Along the USA/Mexico border Catholic church leaders and congregants provided meals, clothing, showers, temporary shelters, etc. whilst knowing full well that the people benefitting from these services were illegally in the USA. Some Catholic organizations even advised migrants on steps they could take to reach locations of their choosing, provided resettlement and integration services, helped find - unlawful - employment, enroll kids in school, etc.

In my opinion, by serving illegal migrants, the seditious dissidents - who would tell you that you must obey God's laws while disobeying their government's laws - encouraged and incentivized unlawful migration into the USA, and, in so doing contributed to the crisis at the USA/Mexico border.

While Hamas are in charge, nobody can help those Palestinians that are against Hamas, by chaining themselves to a doorway.

To clarify, a large number of Palestinians have fallen for the Hamas, Islamist propaganda, while some haven't and are in fear of being killed by Hamas or the IDF.

I think you'll find it's not true that "Christians in Gaza face imprisonment or execution simply for practising their faith". Hamas has tolerated the (now very small) Gazan Christian community, who are almost certainly in greater danger from their Israeli besiegers. See, for example, "Christian patriarchs make joint visit to shelled church in Gaza": https://share.google/4AVxxKGtES8G11iKE

Interesting thoughts Matua. Fortunately not all Church leaders are this mental, but sadly nowadays too many are. Their pastoral-care over-emphasis leads them to ‘be kind’ in all the most foolish ways. They need to increase their exegetical weighting cos I’m not sure any of the Jesus stories I’ve read would have him (a Jew) supporting deranged terrorists who have not shown any contrition whatsoever. Nay, I’d aver Jesus would have ripped the UN a new arsehole by now, such was his aversion to corruption, and so I can only contend that these Ministers are ignorant morons.

As I said in my reply to Matua's earlier post today, do these people in fact fit the category of ... morons?
