You’ll meet Benjamin Bussy, the most self-infatuated, spiral-emoji-obsessed MP the country wishes it had never elected. While his party preached purity and principles, Bussy was busy curating Instagroom posts, chasing validation, and mistaking hashtags for leadership.
What follows is the familiar pattern many of us have watched play out in real time. The mask slips. X users start digging. The carefully managed image collapses. Hori McGory doesn’t need to lift a finger. He just watches the implosion and takes notes.
This book is a satire, but only just. It’s a story about ego, online narcissism, hollow virtue, and what happens when someone confuses attention with competence. You might even recognise a few familiar faces from X along the way.
By the end, Bussy achieves the only sensible outcome of his political career. He quits. The country exhales.
