Our grand kids won’t be here Matua…they are leaving in droves… my partners boss told him both sons (late 20s) are off to WA…great kids- skilled and educated - sick of the bullshit…

Most of us feel completely powerless to stop this!

"Welcome to Country" boys. The bullshit is everywhere, Skarlett. Leaving only prolongs the inevitable.

I’m at a loss as to how we stop this kind of extortion. I thought Act/NZ First/National would make serious changes to this rubbish. But no.

Our local council tourism AGM was to discuss a vote that the local tribe have a couple of tribe members join the management board. Not representatives as Maori owned separate tourism business members (of which there are a number) but as Maori. As some operator owners were to present apologies for their absence at the meeting they queried the reason behind this matter

"Because they're our treaty partners!" . No they are not, they are co-signatories with the Crown, our council tourism clique wasn't at Waitangi.

No proxy votes were allowed to be carried to the meeting and no vote by email or other means was permitted.

The motion was passed without discussion.

The Karens that pushed this through should know that our brown brethren do not respect connivance and weakness, they just take advantage of it.

I've got a mate up north whose great big lovely Maori grandson comes back to visit "eats like horse" and longs to live back "up north". Ross tells him just to stay in WA. Good grandfatherly advice I'd say.

I saw the kind of corruption Duncan talks about in Central Australian Aboriginal Lands in the 1980's. White managers were appointed by legislation but that didn't stop the corruption. The powerful families always got the "Toyotas" and money for "homelands" and the others still lived in "Wilchas".....(stick homes)..........Same old shit happening here now.

My step daughter works for our council in the water treatment department and oh boy is she pissed off at all the local iwi bs that the council 'submits' too.

She comes round home and has to have a rant to let off some steam and she is maori herself!

As a tax/rates payer I'm really concerned about the way this country is headed, my step kids and biological kids are maori/halfcaste and my wife is maori, will they ever benefit from the iwi gravytrain? Hell no!

Fun fact the wahine on the left is another step daughter 🙂

She works for a local tourist business which is owned by an iwi, not our local iwi btw and she went to a powhiri/meeting with all the bigwigs and the spokesman who was 'extremely rude and arrogant' from the iwi absolutely dissed the marae it was held at and pakeha as well during his speech (in te reo) my daughter understands te reo 100% and she confronted him afterwards and told him she knew what he said and told him where to go! He wanted to be best mates after that.

And to add insult to injury the Nats are apparently re-animating some version of Te Mana o te Wai otherwise known as Three Waters. Therefore the coalition is not keeping their election promises. I spent Sun morning writing letters to Ministers to urge them not to as this would be a major betrayal. If nothing else all of you who agree with me write to Bishop, Luxon and Peters.
