Wow, why is the Govt not stepping in and putting an end to this madness?
PPTA is just like the Green Party who are supposed to be all about the environment, we never hear them boasting figures on how many tree they ha planted in the weekend or how much rubbish they prevented from getting to the ocean, the only time we see them getting wound up is when they are wrapped in a tea towel waving a Palestine or LTGBQ+ flag.
If only every NZer read your posts every day, maybe that would help people realise how messed up this country really is.
That’s the perfect analogy. The PPTA’s just like the Greens - all talk about values, but when it comes to actually doing something meaningful, it’s nowhere to be seen.
You’ve probably seen me say this before, Sam, but I honestly think a lot of these “Free Palestine” supporters jump on the cause because it’s easier to wave flags and shout slogans on a Saturday than it is to actually do something meaningful at home - that would require real work.
OMG.....I heard Brian Roche venting his frustrations on ZB and wondered what it was all about and now we know.....except this wasn't mentioned on ZB. Why? The Racist tag again. All we can say is thanks again for your research, your work which should of course be more widely disseminated.
Thanks David, to be fair I’ve got to give credit to X for a lot of the ideas behind my stories. It was someone on there who first pointed out the PPTA selling Toitū Te Tiriti merch, so I looked into it a bit more, and sure enough, it’s all left-leaning politics. There’s nothing neutral about the PPTA.
I wrote to the PM etc about the KapaHaka funding and I'll be writing to the PPTA today....can't wait actually...can we crack onto their FB page perhaps?
I am quite confused and somewhat dismayed as to how the essential work force in this country has been allowed to conduct their Marxist and intimidating behavior. As much as one can blame the Marxists, this situation has evolved through weak democracy over a lengthy period, if not decades. This is the fault of government not to monitor the education processes and subversion from day one. These State Servants are part of the overall functionality of government, along with medical staff, fire department and others, should be prohibited from strike action, supporting subversion or conducting their trade outside the Crowns mandate. They are neither loyal to the Crown or the Students. Sometimes in the liberal (weak) existence as we currently live in, there needs the application of draconian action to rectify the Marxist fellow traveller's resolve, and that time is now.
I think that is a given - especially the younger ones - but to be fair this is a humongous issue - that won’t be solved overnight - what I’m looking for is a government with the balls to even BEGIN to reign it in…
you forgot the climate strikes and crap and doom they push on the kids. during arderns reign the kids were made to write letters to her calling for the banning of farming etc.
I have a friend who is a teacher in a High School. The goings on there are bad. One can say that Christianity is not welcomed, but other perverted ideas are. My friend has the courage to battle against this woke establishment and seems to win every time. Only time will tell when he is challenged for his position at school.
Yep, school’s a lot different to when I was there. We used to have elders from local Christian churches come in to talk about Jesus and the Bible, and I actually enjoyed it. Christianity teaches some solid values and lessons about how to live your life.
Glad to hear your friend is pushing back on the woke BS!
I also wrote to Paul Goldsmith about the KapaHaka festival funding after reading your piece
- I am also sick and tired of receiving emails from the PSA telling me who to vote for and how I should be striking. I work in admin in the hospital and am going to cancel my membership to the PSA - the rubbish they write is appalling and I have heard that teachers are actively encouraging primary school children to attend the strikes today. I find this completely abhorrent!
Thank you for taking the time to email the minister - it will be interesting to hear what he has to say. I’m completely with you on the PSA - they are peddling rubbish!
They seem more focused on climate change, freeing Palestine, honouring the Treaty, and pushing trans and gender ideology onto our kids. At least my children are off school today and don’t have to listen to any of that nonsense.
Lots of home schooling going on right now, well done those parents. Sick of this lefty virus in our school system. The merch is just another indication of intention. Thanks for your hard work.
I work from home, but unfortunately I don’t have the time to give my kids a proper home-schooled education. Some days it’s hard enough just juggling work, family, and Substack.
It’s unfortunately a sign of the decline of the west… education and health outcomes are shocking - a good work ethic is very hard to foster thru the system..
You’re absolutely right, Skarlett. It starts in preschool and carries right through to university. It’s frightening to think how deeply they’re able to influence and shape our kids’ thinking.
This is my favourite part of Substack, the growing community in the chat. Every day I learn a bit more about my subscribers, and it’s great getting to know everyone on a more personal level. I’ve come to know who many of you vote for, what you do for work, and what gets under your skin. We might not agree on everything, but the discussion is always respectful - something you just don’t find on platforms like Facebook.
In Dunedin I’ve come across a number of home schoolers and without doubt it requires a huge commitment, mostly in households with a non paid working mum. Often strong Christian faith. I take my hat off to them but it certainly wasn’t on my radar some 30 years ago.

Yes…some teachers have been educated under this Marxist system - they actually truly believe this stuff…it’s generational indoctrination
Agree, so the question must be why did the Nats not do anything about it. Perhaps they are in the pocket of the Communist yoke?

Well said
you forgot the climate strikes and crap and doom they push on the kids. during arderns reign the kids were made to write letters to her calling for the banning of farming etc.
Yep, you're not wrong - it all pretty much started with the climate strikes.

Is this not an attack on us all, via a spiralling national debt? Yes, we need unions but responsible ones, not focused on ideology.

Totally, why can’t people see that and how can people vote for them?
Yes, the slow march of Marxism through our learning institutions is alive and well in NZ.
It has been in NZ society since 1880. Just resurfaces in different forms
The worst part is that it begins in preschool, continues through primary and high schools, and eventually reaches our universities.
It’s unfortunately a sign of the decline of the west… education and health outcomes are shocking - a good work ethic is very hard to foster thru the system..

Some great comments here, thank you one and all!

Why don’t they stick to what they know, the curriculum. $49M kapa haka diverted to teachers/ nurses might have helped.
Should be re-named TGfTG: Teacher Grifters For Treaty Grifters.
