Boris doesn’t need more money in his ‘back pocket’. What Boris needs is for the Government to use Boris’ tax money wisely, for the betterment of society & to help those genuinely in need (eg disabled). Boris also wants them to stop giving money to greedy fuckers who think they deserve it cos they have more melanin than Boris does. Pretty simple.
Take a look at the photo of Luxon published at The Herald's home page this morning (the icon sized one, not the enlarged version after you click on the former). Cast your eyes down near the bottom of the photo on the mid-left side. See that huge roll of fat? Then look up at his chin area. See that double chin fat? Yes! He's officially what we call "a fat cat". Living in the lap of luxury while his people starve. Revolting and cannot wait to add my tick to the ballots that are collectively going to see Winston Peters take over the P.M.'s office and job.
I agree that political messaging from political parties is often meaningless and out of touch with reality. Along with 'more money in your back pocket', there's gems like' in it for you'.
Then you have all the tea towel wearing numpties wasting time on things that have no relevance to the real issues the country and its people are experiencing. Those are good for maintaining a public profile, people remembering your face and name, plus 'likes' on social media.
National has let the country down in fiscal and monetary policy. Their timidity in slashing unnecessary public spending and the public sector bureaucrat headcount is a key factor.
Freeing up public money to divert to areas of need would be possible then.
Instead, we see more borrowing to keep the lights on and change very little in the public sector.
I don't think we should rely on the Govt to make things better on an individual level. That's up to us.
The government needs to make it easier to do business and cut the public sector bloat. Stop unnecessary programs such as rolling out a Digital ID - what problem are they trying to solve with that?
I agree - the only way I’ll ever get ahead in life is by putting in the effort myself, not relying on others or waiting for some miracle. That’s how it’s always been.
They aren't trying to "solve" anything - they are just going along like little head-nodding ducks in a row, with what their overlords overseas tell them to do
Ken: Totally agree. National are way too timid and trying to please all sides, including those who will never vote for them, regardless of what they do. Cut the public service numbers (as promised). Shut down all those unnecessary departments: Women’s Affairs, Pacific Affairs, Māori Affairs, Racing etc. Then finally bring in legislation that says we are all one people and define us otherwise is breaking the law. There are no special groups of people, we are all just New Zealander’s. And yes, what are we trying to solve with digital ID and CBDC’s? Unless they’re just wanting more control over the populace? And if so, why? We want less government and more privacy, end of.
The government also needs to end the bl**dy gravy train. Shut down the Waitangi Tribunal. Their time is over. They’re now just making things up to keep their arses in the seats and money in their (and Maori) pockets.
Labour would be worse, but let’s face it, we do expect a centre right government to be WAAY better than they are.
They need to stop tinkering around the edges and address the real issues. Supermarket duopoly making healthy food a ridiculous expense, the Local Waters Done Well debacle which will see ratepayers crippled with water infrastructure increases ( while Taumata Arowai and the Commerse Commission rack in the levies), the eternal Treaty gravy train and some serious cutting of government waste.
It is pretty simple, dumb guys like him are not critical thinkers, they get star struck by the globalists and massive corporations who earn their money by manipulating the masses. If he could see that he would realise that we would be saving money by being independent of them all and not making the same mistakes that the other woke western leaders are making. We will be owned by the globalists if he is not voted out soon.
If the nats really thought they were putting more money our back pockets they are totally delusional. I am sick of hearing this crap. They have not kept their election promises which may very well have put money in our back pockets. Get rid of maorification and its accompanying gravy train, including the tribunal (which we pay for), stop the $80m annually for maori whatevers and reduce the public service, not increase it. Then look at the major world wide scam of climate change. NZ is so small anything we do would not make one iota of difference with the climate, which literally has a mind of its own. Also, stop spending money on what their mates in the WEF, WHO want. We do not want or need digital anythings or CBDCs. Just do what you are supposed to do and get the f... out of our daily lives.
We live in what, until yesterday was classified as an “EQB”, Earthquake Prone Building. She was built in 1905 and I have never felt safer in a house in my life and I’m very grateful for the commonsense reforms announced yesterday by National’s Chris Penk.
I was truly worried they were going to be lobbied by the Structural Engineering fraternity because that lot stand to lose big time from these reforms. So bravo to commonsense on that one.
But today’s announcement of The Energy Review is truly disheartening and I really feel that unless we get someone truly visionary running the place we are in the poop big time.
NZ is $284 billion in debt. According to the Taxpayers Union that’s $139,000 per household. So whatever you owe currently, and most of us do owe, add that on top.
The traditional means of coming out of recession is Government spending on big public works but that money has already been spent so when some courage and brains finally come into power. Hopefully Jones, Peters, Seymour what can they actually do? The coffers will be empty.

The only back pockets money is sliding into are those National MPs encouraging their big business buddies to wreck our country and its economy
100%
