Exactly. It’s the same woke bias that stopped us all hearing much about a certain chap swearing at a security guard and calling him a ‘f***en white bald head c***’ [sic]. (Oh the grammar…). Or glossing over throat cutting threats in Parliament, or poems saying to go kill white folk. Sure, it comes out eventually but with only a teensy bit of the outrage reserved for white perpetrators. Whether it’s the IDF, or white cops in the US, the media’s two-tier reporting style is laughable. Tick the right box (trans, black/brown, gay, feminazi, Gazan etc) and you can almost say or do what you like. Jew, white, male evil colonising bastards get a different gig.

The selective outrage is unreal. You can't hate the MSM enough!

There are vicious race/religion based stabbings every day now in the UK, maybe its to contentious for our MSM to handle. Not part of their AGENDA. Anyway alternative media sources like GB news & Dan Wooten keep me up to speed, who needs our MSM!

I have just been sent this by a friend in England. A Matt Godwin column who I have not seen before.

There sure are a lot of stabbings etc that are never reported on here.

Hard to say we will lose trust in our journalism. That trust went a long time ago.

You’re not wrong. I get most of my news from X and Substack these days - it’s the only place you get honest takes on what’s really happening. The mainstream media just serves up their sanitised, woke version of events.

I wrote responses to the most racist columns from Debbie, the Irish co-leader of Te Pati Māori but they wouldn’t publish them. When we all had enough of the second Auckland lockdown, I penned a note to Jacinda which they wouldn’t publish either, so a group of us forked out $15,000 to publish it as an AD in the Herald and of course I had to negotiate my way through a bunch of lawyers who tried to chip away and have me prove everything. Got there in the end but it was such a one sided process.

Pope, if you’d like your writings published, just send me a DM. I’d be more than happy to feature them in my Saturday segment, Subscriber Stories. I give all my paid subscribers, like yourself, a platform to have their work seen by thousands of readers. Having to pay just for your opinion to be noticed is pretty ridiculous.

I’m happy to publish anything (within reason) you write - just get in touch!

How do ever trust the so called ‘free’ press again when they get bought by a government for $55 million with strings attached as to what they can say and also being directed into what they have to say. I own you babies now, we are now the ‘sole source of the truth’.

A free press without a soul but with a lefty, woke agenda. Jacinda has certainly not left this country.

It’s like they’re still tied to that money, which is probably why they go so easy on Chris Hipkins. I remember his first speech as he was preparing to become prime minister - he explicitly told the media that his family was off-limits. That was around the same time an alleged affair was happening and his relationship with his children was reportedly strained.

Worlds of journalism survey 2022 I think.

Good sample size, straight forward question on where you identify yourself on the political spectrum.

More NZ journalists describe themselves as extreme or far left than there are journalists on the entire right part of the spectrum.

This pattern is reflected across the West, though it's worse in some places like Germany for instance.

It's unsurprising that we are constantly told the right is the threat, and that most news is squeezed through a leftist lense.

The only real use for mainstream media is to illustrate how biased institutions become.

I can't remember the last time I went on stuff or picked up a herald, aside from to amuse myself on how cretinous these people mostly are and yet how seriously they take themselves.

I see far more journalists openly on the left or pushing a left-leaning agenda than I do on the centre-right. The supposed ‘balance’ in NZ media doesn’t feel balanced at all.

This RNZ article is vintage. https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/mediawatch/audio/2018865505/who-are-new-zealand-s-journalists-today

The report is linked at the bottom of the article.

Pearls like this in the RNZ article "These days, there’s no shortage of the same sort of scepticism – and cynicism – among a group of New Zealanders convinced the media are biased and agenda-driven, even without any firm evidence."

I invite everyone to look at page 6 of the survey and tell me in what universe that is not clear evidence of obvious left bias.

Worth noticing the increase of women in media as well, likely the two are related.

Yeah I had to check the details out on X FFS! Then finally last night it got a bit of coverage on TVNZ. Ridiculous since we all head to our various sources when we get a sniff of a story like this. NZ MSM should have been giving this story the cover it deserved.

Yeah, I saw a short piece in either the NZ Herald or Stuff yesterday naming the guy behind the attacks. Apparently, while he was stabbing people, he was shouting Islamic slogans - but somehow they’re still insisting it wasn’t a terrorist attack.

". Police later confirmed the suspect was a 32-year-old Black British man and that the attack was not being treated as terrorism related."

If I was on that train and anyone - black-white- or whatever- was coming after me with that knife I would be terrified.

Definition of Terrorism - "a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

(what about religious aims)
