I have many friends who do not own a smart phone and have no intention of doing so, if there isn’t legislation to protect those choices it will be very quickly embedded that all legal drivers must have their license on a phone. This could potentially result in lots of drivers with no license. I’d be one of them

100% agree!

My partner is one of those without a “smart” phone - but I won’t use the digital id I will literally throw away my phone if it comes to that..

The next generation can join the surveillance state not me

Absolutely correct this country is far to controlling we all need the choice look at what has happened with the maori language etc now compulsory in almost everything. This is wrong people should always have the choice. Thanks Winny

I am one without a smart phone. There is no way in hell I will get one. I do not wish to bank, pay for, upload any form of identification onto a phone which miraculously can be switched off by a power failure, force of nature or any such thing. In my opinion those who think it is the next best thing to sliced bread, obviously have not thought any/every thing through thoroughly

Winston and NZ First are shaping up to be the preferred main Govt in the next elections. He is way ahead in common sense and prepared to stick his neck on the line where it matters. If you want the racist Maori creep dealt to, I think he and Party are the only choice.

Got a smart phone but only use if for calls, texts and photos. No way I'd use it for anything else, so go Winnie! Why should people be forced to have and use smartphones to be part of society?

Definitely agree on this. Incidentally, talking of new digital world have you heard anything about the Reserve Banks planning for the "Kiwi Crypto" currency? I remember having a chuckle to myself some months ago when there was news of them having discussions and meetings in Wello about it. Would absolutely have killed to be fly on the wall.......

Agree. Same has happened with cash. Many places now refuse to accept cash. It may suit them but it doesn’t suit me cos I need a way to launder all my drug money… (that last bit is a joke btw..). CBDCs, digital licences, RUC GPS tracking, Google algorithms, it’s all a little too 1984 for my liking. Trust the Gummint? Nope.
