Winston Peters isn’t here to play games. The Deputy Prime Minister has flat-out refused Green MP Benjamin Doyle’s invitation for a private conversation. And why should he? Peters is demanding answers in public, not behind closed doors. The people deserve to know what's really going on.
This all kicked off after disturbing content surfaced from Doyle’s now-deleted Instagram account, “BibleBeltBussy.” The page included images of Doyle’s transitioning son and captions like “Bussy Galore.” That term isn’t harmless. It's slang with sexual undertones, a mash-up of “boy” and “pussy,” and it’s not something you expect to see from a sitting MP - let alone involving a child.
Even more alarming, Doyle used a swirl emoji that the FBI officially recognises as a symbol linked to pedophilia. That’s not some harmless joke or internet meme. That’s a serious red flag. Doyle brushed off the concerns as “baseless,” but you can’t call something baseless when there's evidence staring you in the face.
He then claimed the posts were just inside jokes or nicknames, saying things like “Bussy Galore” simply meant “me living my best life.” Sorry, but that doesn’t fly. If your best life involves sexualised language around kids, people are right to be outraged.
Winston Peters is saying what a lot of people are thinking. Why did the Green Party tell Doyle to take down the posts during his candidacy if there was nothing wrong with them? And why are they only now admitting it while at the same time defending the content? That’s not transparency. That’s damage control.
And when Peters referred to Doyle as “he,” the mainstream media lost its mind. They were more upset about pronouns than about questionable posts involving children. That says everything. Doyle has a penis, Doyle is a male.
Doyle claims he’s received hundreds of threats, including death threats. But where are they? No one has seen any evidence. Yes, people are calling him names like “disgusting pedo,” but that’s a far cry from actual threats. If threats exist, they should be investigated. But making serious claims without proof only weakens your credibility.
Doyle says he’s talking to police. Parliamentary Security has referred at least one concern to them, but police have yet to confirm anything publicly. In the meantime, Doyle offered to speak with Peters one-on-one. Peters pretty much told Doyle to fuck off.
“No. He can speak to the police and international authorities who are watching posts like his,” Peters said.
And he’s absolutely right. This isn’t a private matter. It’s a public issue, and Winston Peters is one of the few standing up and refusing to be silenced. He’s doing what too many politicians won’t - calling out what needs to be called out and demanding accountability.
The public is with him. The questions are valid. And Uncle Winny isn’t going anywhere.
If the greens had any humanity they'd expel him and get him away from public scrutiny. He is a sick man.
BD is a public nuisance, and a private red flag screaming for further investigation.
Winston has escalated the concerns we all have with conduct unbecoming of a member of parliament, to say the least.
