Yep. I put the blame on “marketing”. A quick glance at the Otago PDF you shared last week made it very clear that was their intention and NZ as a whole has been busily exploiting how wonderfully “maorified/green & contemporary” we all are and as we now learn that has left a gap big enough to drive fiscal bus through. As I always say leave Māori culture alone. It was always doing fine before the social engineers and do-gooders came along…..now with marketing involved it’s a giant turn-off.

He Puapua well on track when the health, education, police, local and central government are all using it as their song sheet. Would be ok if we believed it would make NZ a better nation.
