Now that was a gesture of respect deserving a salute from our returned services and forces community. Thank you, Ruth, for honouring our flag.

Thank you Ruth.

Thank you for not just looking away.

A timely reminder that if we don’t stand for something, we’ll fall for anything.

You are a true heroine, you stand out in glaring contrast to the deafening silence of The Greens who would have been screaching their heads off if it had been a rainbow flag or Te Pati if had been their Treason Flag

One thing all Kiwis (no matter the ethnicity) have in common is that we have had Kiwi fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers who have fought for our freedom in that last 2 WWs. And many Kiwis today, have sons and daughters or grandkids who have or are serving to continue that freedom.

The flag represents that sacrifice - it deserves our respect.

Good on Ruth for picking up the flag. And what's it this about the Nelson deputy mayor? How did he get selected. I thought Nick Smith is mayor and he selects his deputy. One would think the deputy needs to have experience in life and business, surely?

Ruth has inspired me to go visit the gallery, to follow in her footsteps. I have been there once before, most of its displays are ridiculous. I object heartily to my rates being used for crap such as this.
