Fantastic news! The best thing I've read all year. Aside from your upcoming article, where can I read more on this. It's the first I've heard about it.
I've just read this and in a superficial summing up I'd say that Toitū Te Tiriti are showing some a)integrity, and b) balls. Interesting that Kiri Tamahere-Waititi was "unable to attend" the meeting.
Oh boy, TPM antics have been a train-wreck waiting to happen this whole political cycle and it seems that here it is. I await developments with great interest.
Things aren’t looking good for them. I wouldn’t be surprised if a separate ‘Māori’ party emerges before the next election, led by Eru Kapa-Kingi and his mum. One thing’s certain - he knows how to rally a crowd and connects with the younger generation.
Yes, that's about my take also. So . . . the possibility of a new party fronted by a charismatic young man, but if it eventuates, will they be able to put in place the structures and support required to get such a venture off the ground? TPM already had this in place, even though it's morphed a long way from the founders' intentions. Another possible scenario would be a "hostile takeover"of TPM but I can't see John Tamahere letting that happen!
Tamahere may not have to many options about it happening. His team of misfits have become unruly. He will fight tooth and nail....but will he and his ilk survive?

Feral Ferris at war with the equally vile, equally racist, psychotic Kiri and the self serving Tamihere clan, fabulous times ahead.
I feel smug in the knowledge that I was rubbished by the bros when I spoke against TPM and Toitu te tiriti, oh look what we have...
Kata kata kata.
That's me having the (not yet) last laugh, while the shit show winds up.

Great news
The division within Maori is tribal and not easily bridged…
Give ‘em enough rope…
I feel for Maori caught in this - great people made to look racist by a racist party claiming to speak for all Maori…
The timing is wonderful with the election next year…
Phew
😂😂😂😂
But... is Eru any better than say Ferris? He is just as hot headed and ill informed, and indoctrinated!
