Rohan O’Neill-Stevens is a feminophobic toxic-woke offence-finding radical activist for all things 'trans'.

So many advantages. I changed my health record last year to say I'm Maori. Suddenly I got booked for surgery (two weeks after the DHB wrote saying you're still on the list but we can't book you yet and 6 months after going on the list). Maybe a coincidence?

And more recently offered a free flu shot and cervical smear testing that I would otherwise have had to pay for.

If we truly want equality in New Zealand, maybe it’s time for everyone - Pākehā, Asian, Indian, whoever - to start identifying as Māori. After all, if identity is based purely on self-declaration, and gender can be changed with a label and a wardrobe shift, why not ethnicity too? Perhaps it’s time we normalised transracial identities the same way the left has embraced gender fluidity? Just a thought.

@eleludemann over on X had the perfect reply to this comment:

I should clarify - I am not Maori.

There is the key, you don't have to prove it to govt depts anymore?

I think some runanga still request your whakapapa to get the full handout?

Hubby looks Maori, has the "tarbrush" and gets the nod a lot.

He once suggested we should all identify to get the benefits.

I said our family loses our whole identity if we choose just one.

Boards and executive teams all over NZ gave people like this sitting in positions they wouldn’t otherwise have without this declaration. There’s a segment of underachievers and useless eaters who have worked out they can carve out a niche for themselves and don’t have to deliver anything. Showing up is all they have to do.

Yeah

I’m going with maybe we should all be New Zealanders..

I do not whakapapa Maori - but I have tats and a degree in Maori visual arts…I could identify as Maori but then I feel like I’m both rejecting my mixed European ancestry and I’m encouraging the rot…

However…having been on the surgery wait list for over two years….hmmmm

He is NOT Maori

He is part Maori and predominantly European

This sort of identity rubbish undermines achievement and makes people look like DEI fools.

I was taught as a child that we should honour all our ancestors - Maori and European.

The radical Maori eg TPM who hate their Pakeha ancestors and want to send All Whites back to Europe are violating their culture by denying over half of their tupuna.

If we start requiring people to tick intersectional boxes do not per shocked when those who cannot engineer (lie) themselves into said intersectional boxes hate and despise you.

I think the majority of these claims to Māori tribal ancestry are a rort and wouldn't stand up to scrutiny. Why aren't they being scrutinized? Particularly when it leads to high paying jobs and careers. Just change your electoral record and census data to Maori and you're sweet. Even that isn't necessary.

It seems that many younger people don’t see the difference between character and identity, they don’t remember any other way. Their brains have been shaped by social media trends, it’s all perception and optics, no substance. They think they are fighting for causes when they are just cos playing at activism. If the algorithms told them something new to focus on tomorrow they’d do it.

These racial identitarian movements across the West are really concerning. New Zealand seems more advanced on it than most.

Australia is also very advanced in this regard. I was looking for university scholarships, hoping that my son could apply for one next year. I came across about a dozen that only Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders are eligible for, plus one that requires you to identify as a member of the LGBQTI+ community. Looks like he'll have to get a job to support himself! Hopefully it will keep him too busy to get involved in campus protest movements!
