The utu doctrine - the dead end - is still alive in NZ. This is toxic masculinity at its worst. He should be ashamed of himself - and make amends by speaking out against Maori violence. Particularly against children.
Typical maori - fists first. When will this mentality ever end? Certainly not with fists. Know doubt his indoctrinated supporters will love his challenge, but really. Just imagine that should he ever be in parliament, there will be fists from the partly maori flying in all directions. Certainly not leadership material for both his family or parliamentary party. This is when kids get killed and no-one is accountable. They just dont know how to think and out come the fists. Disgraceful behaviour. Goes right back to the tribal origins. They have not evolved - yet!!
Untill polititions have the strength to put every child killer in prison untill they die without parole, visitors or privileges such as televisions children will continue dying instead of the ones who should. Those are the perpetrators.
The Herald carried a story today about a part-Maori teen who was assaulted/abused by a mad dog owner on a Northland beach (A11). Teenager wanted abuser to do community work on a marae so she'd know that "Maori ...are caring people, human beings who deserve respect...."
That girl has a lot to learn - your chosen identity or part-ancestry doesn't convey what sort of person you are - only your actions can really do that.
Fascinating accidental mask off moment.I box and don't feel the urge to fight those I disagree with. Unfortunately there are many more acting on reptilian brain impulses.
Sadly true ... dehumanizing commentary only leads to violence and more frequent violations. When that becomes normalized, the whole of society is in trouble, and those most vulnerable become even more at risk. Time for the tolerant quiet majority to stop tolerating the intolerant - not with violence but with standing together against the intolerable.
Even better, he challenges Seymour to a mediated debate, turns his machismo into something that contributes to a constructive civil discourse. No violence.
Set an example for his children's children. Turn this thing around, do his Iwi proud and Make Māori Great Again?
Ridiculous, I'm sure his mummy MP can stand up for herself, she has proven that by insulting around 90% of our population and being proud of it. No wonder her son has turned out to be such an angry big mouth fellow...
In Aotearoa more people will march against a bill which seeks to debate theoretical principles than will march against the brutality being inflicted on the defenceless bodies of Maori children. When will Maori children's lives start to matter?

And here we thought we’d progressed from Once Were Warriors. I despair.

The kindest thing I can say is that he's immature and 'shoors from the hio'. But he's also a complete dick.
I'm not confident that he'll grow out of either.
Was meant to read "shoots from the hip"
Love your work!
More thuggery and theatrics. How about they try something new; like dignity and decency?
